Sealants

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" -Benjamin Franklin

Sealants are a preventive treatment recommended to protect newly erupting permanent molars in children. Most children get their first permanent molars at age six. These teeth need to last a lifetime. We put sealants on teeth in young children for the same reason we put protective covers on our tablets and cell phone before we hand them over to a youngster.

A visit for sealants typically takes about 30 minutes. There are no shots, and no pain. The tooth is cleaned and dried, and the sealant is applied almost like fingernail polish, it is cured under an ultraviolet light. Dr. Conover seals the permanent molars of his own children and recommends if for all of the families who trust him with the dental care of their children.
